So long and thanks for all the shows …

After more than 120 shows in 6 different countries, thursday saw us play our last show in Keek, Utrecht. Thanks to all those who came to the show and made it such a memorable evening for us. For those who didn’t, here is our last song from the evening:

We would like to extend this thanks to anyone who has helped us out in one way or another in the last two and half years. So many good memories and some great friends made along the way.

We are all already busy writing new music so keep an eye out for our new projects arising in the coming months.

Enjoy the winter months

And now for something completely different . . .

We have decided that as of 24th November Goodwin Sands will disband. Our last show together will be on this very day in Keek, Utrecht. After the fantastic experiences of the last two years, now feels like a good moment to move onto pastures new. We would like to thank all the people that have helped our band in the last two years. It has been fun!

Watch this space for our new musical adventures.

And… there’s Autumn again

It seems that we have now reached September, which leaves us with no excuse to complain about the weather. But whilst preparing for our third trip to Ireland in as many years, which will start in just two weeks, we are getting all nostalgic by looking back on the brief hint of summer we got in early June on our U.K. tour.

Our new practice room doesn’t have any windows anyway, so we can just ignore the weather and work on some exciting new material. We’ve also been updating the video and photo sections of our website and left it flowing with summer vibes.

On top of all the Irish tour talk, we’ve also got a bunch of Dutch dates planned, among them a couple of shows as part of the Popronde. So; be sure to synchronize with this list of shows and we hope to see you there!!

All’s well that ends well

After a hectic few weeks in the Goodwin Sands camp, we wanted to take this chance to share our experiences and news with you all before we head off to enjoy the sun for a couple of weeks.

We would like to invite you  to look back on our fantastic tour of the UK with us by reading the final entry of our tourdiary, that is now online at 3voor12. This article is in Dutch, but there are also photo’s (by comrade Vincent Perdijk) of what we got up to over there. We would like to thank everyone that was part of the experience and also the ones at home giving us nice comments, sharing our video’s with their friends and so forth. THANKS.

Back here in Holland we have also been busy playing shows these last few weeks. We were invited into gardens, a livingroom and even onto a campsite in the gorgeous surroundings of Groningen, where we camped out in the van after a lovely evening playing songs for attentive ears and celebrating Pete’s birthday.

The next few months are shaping up to be just as interesting. We will be returning to Groningen during the Noorderzon festival on Wednesday 24th August and in September we will be hopping over to Ireland for the 3rd time in as many years. Sprinkled here and there are a couple of dates in Germany during October and November and during this time we are delighted to announce that we will be involved in the 2011 edition of the Popronde; more news on this to follow.

But first, we’re gonna catch us some sun in the coming two weeks, because when we are all back from holiday we will be locking ourselves in our new practice room to demo some new songs. Expect them up for free download in the Autumn.

Enjoy the summer! Speak soon!

Spoilt brats

Thus far on our travels, England has been spoiling us. We played for the best audience ever at Proud in Camden, totally lived it up with the great people of the Duckie at the Vauxhall Tavern in London and were treated so well by the Oxfringers present at the Honey Pot in Oxford.

Also, that famous English breakfast is working out pretty well for our energy levels; after recording three songs with the guys from The Punt Sessions in Oxford yesterday, today we recorded a new song, “Dead Air” for our video tour blog. This will be online really soon on our landings page at www.goodwinsands.nl

Ok, thats it’s for now. We are off back to work to gather money for petrol and that parking ticket we got ourselves, but first a nice little dinner here in Nottingham. Stay tuned!

As far as we can get …..

Hi folks! It’s been a while since we last spoke and we are so excited to be approaching the start of our second UK tour!

A lot has happened in the last few weeks. We have been busy finishing new songs and trying them out throughout the Netherlands. Doing so, we have met some great new people and played ina few lovely, new locations. Also, we have finally found ourselves a new, nice place to practice; good news !!

Of course, the UK tour cannot go unnoticed and we are eager to share every (well, almost every…) experience we go through. Therefore we are proud to present our very own ON-TOUR DIARY! From Friday 10th until Monday 20th June you will find reports and videos direct from the road on our website.

With our old van you can place your bets as to how far we’ll get, so we’re bringing an extra guy and his camera along to capture all this and put everything on a special website which will be the home of www.goodwinsands.nl from the start of the tour.

Also, you can take a quick look at our upcoming tour dates, or the tour poster below, to see where we’re heading. We can’t wait. We’ll keep you posted on any new developments on the tour.

Feathered Folk

We would like to share this video for “Feathered Folk” with you . The video was made by our good friend and all-round trooper Vincent Perdijk, whilst in Germany last month:
